It is some years since we arranged a gathering for our OS, parents and families North of the border! We are currently planning this event and will have further details shortly. The Headmaster, John Browne and the College Curator, Jan Graffius will be attending along with the Chairman of the Association Simon Andrews. It would be lovely to see as many of you there as possible. If you are at university in Scotland and perhaps have not given us your email address do get in touch so that we can send you the details.

October 14th 2017 – OS 2007 Reunion

A reunion for OS 2007 is being arranged at the College. A booking form is available from the Association Office. October 27th – 29th 2017 – Ignatian Retreat at Mayfield School

We are delighted that this year’s leader will be Fr Philip Endean SJ OS73 who, after being Tutor of Theology at Campion Hall in Oxford and holding the prestigious Glasson Chair at Boston College, moved in September 2013 to be Professor of Spirituality at Centre Sèvres in Paris from where he will join our retreat. November 17th 2017 – Stonyhurst Association Annual Dinner

This year the dinner will be presided over by Robert Brinkley CMG, OS 1972, and will be held at Mercers’ Hall, Ironmongers’ Lane, London. The guest speaker will be Monsignor Borys Gudziak who is Bishop of the Eparchy of Saint Volodymyr the Great in Paris for Ukrainian Greek-Catholics in France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg and Switzerland.  He was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI in 2012.  He is also the President of the Ukrainian Catholic University.

Tickets are priced at £99, and at £65 for OS aged 25 and under and include a drinks reception and wine at the table. The booking form is  available on the website or through the Association Office.

December 11th 2017 – Association Carol Service

Will take place in St Peter’s Church at 7.00pm, and all are welcome to join us and for refreshments afterwards in the Top Refectory.

December 15th 2017 – Sloane Square Carols

The OS Carol Singing in London will take place on Friday 15th December at 7.00pm outside Sloane Square tube station, followed by drinks at a nearby watering hole, venue to be confirmed. All monies raised will be donated to the SCHT. If you can play an instrument or sing, and you plan to come along do contact Matthew Radley on matt.radley@outlook.com

December 16th Alumni Race on Wimbledon Common  at 2.30pm

The annual Alumni Race will take place at the Thames Hare and Hounds Club House on Wimbledon Common (http://www.thameshareandhounds.org.uk/alumni.php) There will drinks after the race at the Green Man Pub in Putney with Sedbergh and Ampleforth. January 20th 2018 – Preston Grasshoppers Match and Lunch

George Erdozain OS 1961 and Martin Hothersall OS 1972 will again be hosting an OS lunch and informal reunion at Preston Grasshoppers’ match with Kendal on Saturday 20th January 2018. This event is for OS, families and friends and in the past few years has grown to over 50 attendees with OS coming from France, Scotland and the South as well as the North of England. February 22nd  2018 – The L’ Arche Community

L’ Arche was founded by philosopher Jean Vanier, and supports over 5000 women and men with learning difficulties. We are showing a film in the Centenaries Theatre about the L’ Arche community and there will be representatives from the Preston community here to talk to us about their work, with which many OS have been involved. All are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served afterwards. Further information will be available early in the New Year.

February 24th 2018 – Cross Country – Newton-Carter Trophy at Stonyhurst

This is the annual OS versus Old Ampleforth race with the current school teams also competing. Further details TBC but the race will take place on Saturday afternoon and there will be a dinner at the College in the evening. Friends and family are very welcome to race or support and we would particularly encourage younger OS to take part. March 29th – 1st April 2018 – Easter Retreat

The Easter Retreat takes place at the College from Maundy Thursday until Easter Sunday and all OS and their families are welcome. A booking form will be available in the New Year.

April 8th  – 15th – Santiago de Compostela Pilgrimage

We shall walk from Sarrià  to Santiago along the traditional route – the Camino Francés. Arriving on Sunday, we shall start the walk on Monday morning in Sarria and end the walk on Friday evening in Santiago. We will then attend the Pilgrimage Mass in the Cathedral in Santiago on Saturday and have a supper together on Saturday evening. For further information please click the link below.

May 10th 2018 – Association Dinner at Leinster House, Dublin

A dinner is being arranged at Leinster House at the invitation of Senator Ronan Mullen. A booking form will be available in the Christmas term. Please contact the Association Office if you are interested in attending.
