5th – 7th June 2020                          An Ignatian Retreat at Stonyhurst

An introduction to Ignatian spirituality in the form of a (mainly) silent retreat.

This weekend workshop/retreat is intended for those who have little or no experience of a retreat in the pattern of the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius. Apart from designated times participants will be asked to observe the silence which helps us listen to God’s “still, small voice”. For “first-timers” the weekend provides an opportunity to learn the approaches to prayer and reflection which Ignatius offers; for those with some experience of such prayer this will be a chance to deepen their prayer by stepping aside from the normal business of life for a couple of graced days. The weekend will be led by Fr Brendan Callaghan SJ (OS 1966), who is the Chaplain to the Stonyhurst Association. Brendan’s ministry has been largely in Jesuit formation and in higher education, in teaching and leadership positions at Heythrop and Campion Hall. More recently he has been Novice-Master, and is currently on the Chaplaincy Team at the University of Manchester where he also has the care of the Jesuit community.
