The Stonyhurst Association

Founded in 1879, the objective of the Association is to maintain contact between Stonyhurst and its past, present and future pupils, their parents and families. To help in the promotion, advancement and support of education, the Roman Catholic religion and the relief of poverty, sickness and disability.

The Association supports these objectives through a variety of activities including:

  • The publication of a Newsletter both by post and email
  • Holding an Annual Dinner
  • Other social events held both in the UK and overseas
  • Promoting a number of charitable activities
  • Encouraging a variety of sporting events through the Wanderers teams
  • Maintaining a database of members
  • Providing Scholarships and Great Academies prizes to Stonyhurst College
  • Grants to OS in higher education
  • Providing a benevolent fund for members in need through the President’s Fund

Visiting the College

The Association Office organises two OS Open Days per year, where we invite OS and their families to return to the College for a tour of the building, followed by lunch in the refectory.  In addition, visitors have the opportunity to visit the incredible museum and collections at Stonyhurst.  These events are free to attend and are usually held during the school holidays in April and July.

If you are unable to attend one of the Open Days, OS and their families are welcome to visit the College during school hours Monday to Friday. All visits need to be pre-arranged through the Association Office as they do have to be accompanied by a member of staff.

If you have any queries please do ring the Association Office on 01254 827043 or email us at association@stonyhurst.ac.uk
