7:30pm Opening Address
Join the Rt. Rev. Paul Hendricks as he welcomes all to this year’s first-of-a-kind virtual pilgrimage with the Catholic Association and the Stonyhurst Pilgrimage Trust.
8.00pm Opening Address: Chairman of the Stonyhurst Pilgrimage Trust
Dr Nuala Mellows, the Chairman of the Stonyhurst Pilgrimage Trust welcomes us to the Stonyhurst Virtual Lourdes Pilgrimage 2020.

Saturday 22nd August
Lourdes at Home Day Two
10.00am “A Tour of the Town – The Life Story of St. Bernadette”, Part One, narrated by John Hartley
Join John Hartley, who has been coming to Lourdes for several decades, as he tells the story of St Bernadette serialised in five parts this week.
2.00pm Our Gathering Mass
You are invited to join Father Tim Curtis SJ who will celebrate our Gathering Mass from Stonyhurst College in Lancashire. This is an audio broadcast.
8.00pm Night Prayers with Catherine Hanley the College Chaplain
“Good evening and welcome to the first of our evening prayers this week. Our prayers will take the theme of the pilgrimage this year, “I am the Immaculate Conception”, and they will hopefully be a helpful opportunity to reflect on the experiences we are having together, albeit in a virtual form, and to present those experiences to the Lord and to Mary, the mother of us all.”
Sunday 23rd August
Lourdes at Home Day Three
9.00am Mass streamed live from Oban Cathedral
Join Father Sam Burke OP, for our Sunday Mass, a chance for us to celebrate together as a Pilgrimage family.
2.00pm Fr Sam Burke OP, Stations of the Cross
Fr Sam Burke OS04 was ordained in July this year and we offer him our warmest congratulations. Today he leads us in the Stations of the Cross.
4.00pm Fr Sam Burke OP: The theme of Lourdes 2020
We stay with Father Sam as he explores the meaning of the Lourdes theme for this year “I am the Immaculate Conception”.
8.00pm Night Prayers
Catherine Hanley introduces the second evening of prayer:
“Thank you for joining us for our second evening prayers. These prayers are an opportunity to look back over the day and present all that has happened to us to the Lord and to Mary, but also an important moment where we are all united in prayer and praise as one Stonyhurst and Catholic Association family”.
Monday 24th August
Lourdes at Home Day Four
10.00am “A Tour of the Town -The Life Story of St. Bernadette”, Part Two, narrated by John Hartley
The second of part of John Hartley’s “Life of Bernadette” recounts how and when the first apparition occurs and concludes with the formation of the Commission of Enquiry.
2.00pm The Magill Mystery Tour
Richard Brumby, a stalwart of our Lourdes Pilgrimage, invites you to join him as he takes us on a mystery tour of Lourdes. Fr Paul Magill SJ, whom the tour is named after, left provision for us to end the tour with refreshments in a cafe. So this year perhaps you can sit and watch, with refreshments at hand and enjoy the sights just as if you were taking part in Lourdes itself.

4.00pm The Rosary
The Belderbos and Kilburn families will lead us in our Rosary today.
7:30pm Be Part of the Miracle, Live Community Gathering
Join fellow members of the Catholic Association and Stonyhurst Pilgrimage Trust communities as we share treasured memories, hear much-loved songs, reflect on past years and look forward to future pilgrimages.
Catherine Hanley, the College Chaplain: “Having participated in the Masses and other times of prayer and watched reflections and personal accounts of Lourdes, we have experienced a lot together this week so far. Perhaps some have even experienced miracles small or large in response to our intercessions to Mary. Perhaps there have been moments of grace where we have received new enlightenment or felt God more closely beside us”.
Tuesday 25th August
Lourdes at Home Day Five
10.00am “A Tour of the Town – The Life Story of St. Bernadette”, Part Three, narrated by John Hartley
This third part of our journey through the life story of St. Bernadette includes the findings of the Commission of Enquiry and The Maison Paternelle, just before St. Bernadette says farewell to Lourdes.
Wednesday 26th August
Lourdes at Home Day Six
10.00am “A Tour of the Town – The Life Story of St. Bernadette”, Part Four, narrated by John Hartley
The penultimate part, narrated by John Hartley starts with a description of St Bernadette’s farewell to Lourdes, never to return, the fourth part ends with an explanation of what St Bernadette meant when she said she was a “A broom in your hands.
4.00pm A talk on the joy of the Baths
Christopher Page, a Trustee of the Stonyhurst Pilgrimage Trust and an experienced helper in the Baths talks about the joy that can be experienced when bathing in the waters of Lourdes.
8.00pm Night Prayers

Thursday 27th August
Lourdes at Home Day Seven
10.00am “A Tour of the Town – The Life Story of St. Bernadette”, Part Five, narrated by John Hartley
The final part gives us an insight into St. Bernadette’s latter years and a final thought from John Hartley, “For myself, I see Bernadette as a straight speaking, resilient, courageous, girl. She was head strong and single minded and could when exasperated, answer back. There was no guile or cunning in her.”
2.00pm The Rosary
Fr Anthony Meredith, who celebrates at our 11.30 Mass in the Accueil Marie St Frai in Lourdes, leads us through the second Rosary of our Pilgrimage week.
4.00pm Medical Talk
Dr Nuala Mellows gives a fascinating and illuminating talk about the miracles of Lourdes and the processes that have to be undertaken before a cure can be accepted to be a miracle.
8.00pm The Last Night Party
You are invited to join us for a splendid evening of entertainment! We have a fantastic cast, including excellent singers, story tellers, poets and a trumpet soloist with pianist John Hartley and his wife Rosalind. Our Master of Ceremonies for the evening is Dom Hartley and the final act will be yours with a Sing-a-Long!
Friday 28th August

Come together as the Chief Brancardier, Richard Hargreaves, and the Chief Handmaid Lina Al-Araj, offer a round-up of the week’s events, and leave you with some parting thoughts.
