On Saturday 25th May a group of 35 Stonyhurst staff and parents are cycling from London to Paris and will be departing from Kensington Gardens at 3.00pm. Do come along to wave them off! They will cycle over night with a brief crossing on the ferry, towards their finishing point less than 24 hours later at the Church of St Pierre du Montmartre in Paris, sitting in the same plot of land as the Sacre Couer. As a Jesuit school this is a very important place to us; it was the location where St Ignatius Loyola took his vows in 1594 to found the Society of Jesus and, in turn, Stonyhurst itself. Therefore after 425 years we are heading back to the place where it all began! They are supporting three Stonyhurst charities, listed below, which are very dear to our hearts:
Stonyhurst Children’s Holiday Trust, Stonyhurst Pilgrimage Trust and the Xavier Project.
